I almost don't want to give such a great review as Compton's and especially their cafe inside is a hidden east Sac gem! The sandwiches and pizza are always on point. Freshly made with quality ingredients. My coworkers and I get lunch here a couple of times a week. It's a bit pricy but when you're paying for quality I don't mind.

Best small market! Love this place and the old school vibes it provides and the little cafe/sports bar is great!

Compton is such a great neighborhood market. The store is extremely clean and the service is always exceptional. Great selection of wines and great produce and meat. They always have great specialty items and fresh bread. I highly recommend the store.

I remember seeing this place back in the late 80s. It turns out it's been here since 1957. It's a very nice neighborhood grocery store. It's clean, and everybody was friendly and helpful. For a neighborhood market, they have a good selection. You can get regular or organic produce, (they have six different kinds of apples.) groceries are the same, everything from regular groceries to gourmet items. they have a decent sized liquor and wine section, as well. They also have a pizza restaurant attached. Prices are higher than some of the other stores out there, but hey... It's a higher end neighborhood store. I get it. I got what I needed. Thank you very much.

Great selection of food, drinks, snacks etc. The restaurant can be expensive but the food is good.

Convenient grocery store, nice service. Some items are really spendy but on a pinch it'll work.

The food was excellent! Bacon burger was juicy and fries were crispy and hot! I love the cute little bar area & my drink was strong delicious! Compton's is a hidden gem! Kinda want to keep it that way...a secret LoL

I walked in and walked around to look for specific herbs. As I was walking down the aisle, an employee came up to me and asked if I needed any assistance. He helped me find what I needed and was so nice to even share and look up where I can find other ingredients at the other shops nearby.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Pre-Covid we went on a regular basis for dinner. The burgers were delicious, as were the flautas and the kiddo liked the chicken strips. They had wine, beer and food tastings from local businesses. Their smoked bbq meat was heat as well. Oh and the soups too! Insider tip: order at the bar, rather than the deli counter, and your meal comes with a beer or very full glass of wine. During Covid, they had crates of eggs from local restaurants at times when you couldn't find eggs at other stores. They also had many other supplies that were scarce at other stores. They support the community and do fundraisers for the middle school up the street. They have products from local bakeries, coffee, meat products, wineries, breweries, farms and more. I love having a neighborhood store and recommend checking them out.
